Synopsis

Little Cesco loves running errands for all the people in his village, and everybody loves him for it. One day, old Carrie who lives at the edge of the village asks him to pick some wild garlic for her. Cesco must venture into the dark woods for this errand … but what happens when he finds he has walked too far? How shall he ever find his way back home? It may be dark under those gloomy oaks but how else is Cesco to see the magic of the woods?

About the author

Philip M. Bonello is an author and retired educator . His career in education spanned almost 40 years; he started off as a teacher in a number of schools throughout Malta, before going on to becoming a Guidance Teacher and assistant headmaster. Later on in his career, Bonello was appointed Health and Safety Officer, as well as Assistant Director (Service Manager) within the iSchools Resources Management Department. After his retirement in 2010, Bonello began fulfilling his lifelong dream of becoming a writer, and has since written children’s stories and a memoir of his childhood in Valletta, “Jien Niftakar il-Belt”.
