Il-Ħares tal-Fortizza by Tony C. Cutajar

Klassi tas-Sekondarja fi skola tal-bniet kienu qed jistudjaw l-istorja ta' Malta fi żmien il-Gran Mastru De Vilhena. Semgħu dwar il-gżira Manoel u l-għalliema ma setgħetx ma ssemmilhomx il-ħares li kien jidher fil-fortizza. L-istudenti kellhom jaħdmu fuq proġett dwar il-Gran Mastru u l-ħidma kbira tiegħu fil-pajjiż, kif ukoll dwar stejjer ta' ħsara. L-għalliema tal-Istudji Soċjali u tal-Arti u Snajja' daħlu wkoll f'dan il-proġett fejn ġew inklużi tpinġijiet ta' ħares u kostumi ta' żmien il-Halloween u l-Karnival. Fl-istess waqt, klassi oħra tas-subien kienu qed jaħdmu fuq kompetizzjoni ta' min jilbes l-aħjar bħala mummja. Dan wassal għal xi sitwazzjonijiet umoristiċi u mhux tas-soltu fid-dar u fil-klassi, iżda wkoll għal ħbiberija bejn żewġ tfajliet kuġini u żewġ ġuvintur.

A class of girl students in a Secondary school were studying Maltese history during the time of Grand Master De Vilhena. They were told about Manoel Island and the teacher could not refrain from telling them about the ghost which appeared at the fortress. The students were to work on a project dealing with the Grandmaster and his great work in the country, as well as ghost stories. The teachers of Social Studies and Arts and Crafts got involved in this project where drawings of ghosts and the customs during Halloween and Carnival were concerned. At the same time, another class of boys werre also working on a competition on who dresses as the best mummy. This led to some funny and unusual situations at home and in class but also to a friendship between two girl cousins and two boys.
